The solar work case consists of a robust case with integrated solar module, a battery for storing energy and various consumers that can be operated using the self-generated solar power.
The solar work case is available in three different versions:

• Original material kit (item no. 94920)
• Prepared material kit (item no. 94921)
• Fully assembled solar work case (item no. 94922)

In addition to the assembly instructions, the solar work case also contains an educational introduction to the basics of photovoltaics.

The "fully assembled solar work case" consists of standard electrical components plus the original assembly material.
The assembly of the material kit does require certain technical skills but no specific advanced expertise. The assembly instructions guide the user through the assembly of the material kit step-by-step right up to the creation of a fully assembled solar work case.

This involves drilling the necessary holes in the case, bending the panels for locking the case lid in place and securing the battery in the case, establishing the electrical connections, etc. in order to assemble the components.
In addition to the materials included in the scope of delivery, the following are also required for assembly:

• 5 mm drill
• Screwdriver
• Sandpaper
• Hacksaw
• Fabric tape
• A way of bending panels, e.g. a vice

The assembly of the solar work case – whether this is done individually, in a group or as a class – is intended to teach basic technical skills and should of course be fun. And when it is complete, the solar work case is in itself a small solar power station that can be used in practice.

The solar module supplies energy from the sun, which is stored in the battery via a charge controller. A wide range of connection options enable various conventional consumers to be operated.
The energy from the sun is stored in the battery as DC current, although other household devices can also be connected via the inverter.

Together with the fully assembled solar work case, the educational documents introduce trainees to the basics of photovoltaics, including:

• Module characteristics and their influencing factors
• The fill factor of a solar cell or a solar module
• Power adjustment
Trainees will also become familiar with and understand the main components of an off-grid PV system.
