The solar expansion module enables you to implement a solar cell follower (single-axis). The solar panel is to follow the course of the sun from east to west automatically (solar position detection). The speed of the motor can be adjusted using a potentiometer.

The model "Solar Tracking" (single axis) is to follow the path of the sun from east to west automatically (sun detection). This ensures an optimal exploitation of the installed solar module that is mounted on a support of Plexiglas. By the analog signal output of two sensors (solar cells) the positioning can be controlled. The tracking of the solar module can be realized with LOGO! or SIMATIC S7-1200 controls. With appropriate adaptations the model can be controlled with other SIEMENS controllers (e.g, S7 200, S7 300).

The panel is driven by a coreless gearmotor. The operating voltage is 12 V or 24 V DC. The rotational speed of the motor can be adjusted by an applied trimmer potentiometer on the board.
The rotation of the engine is possible in both directions. The rotation angle amounts to a maximum of 180°. When the endpoints are reached (east or west) the motor is switched off. Therefore overheating or damage of the motor is excluded. The vertical angle of the solar panel is adjustable with two screws.
